The required level of sound insulation between internal spaces is determined, based on relevant guidance, statutory requirements or Client aspirations, with reference to applicable documents such as Approved Document E of the Building Regulations, Building Bulletin 93 ‘Acoustic Design of Schools’, BS8233: 2014, HTM 08-01, BREEAM. Constructions to achieve the required sound insulation are then advised, based on structural intent, architectural considerations, dimensional constraints, cost etc.

Advice is provided on all building types, including residential buildings and hotels, offices, schools, health centres and hospitals, cinemas and theatres.

Traditional acoustic engineering techniques are augmented by computer modelling based on Statistical Energy Analysis techniques to allow the most cost-effective delivery of the completed project.
